We all know it is important to drink water – and the increase of people walking round with water bottles is a sure indication that the message is getting through – but how much is enough? We have 14 signs for you to check out and see how you are ranking. Also on the subject of water – do look after your health by getting a good quality stainless steel or metal water bottle – and don’t stick with the plastic bottles – two reasons… they are a massive pollutant and second most water bottles contain Bisphenol A (BPA) which can be a concern for some bottles made of polycarbonate (which shares resin identification code 7 with other plastics). High temperatures and bleaching are believed to increase leaching of BPA] Several countries have banned the use of plastics containing BPA used for water and other food items. Also PLEASE DO NOT HEAT PLASTIC BABY BOTTLES IN THE MIRCROWAVE this can also cause leaching – please, always check the makeup of your bottles. P.S. Use a nice glass that helps to enjoy the experience! 14 Signs You’re Not Drinking Enough Water   There’s not much in this world more refreshing than a tall, ice-cold glass of water. I don’t think there’s anyone alive that can deny that sometimes, a simple glass of water can be more satisfying than a cup of coffee or a can of soda. Despite this, too many of us don’t drink enough water on a daily basis. By depriving ourselves of the world’s most natural resource, we are continuously damaging our bodies. If you experience any of the following, you can improve your situation by starting with a glass of H2O. 1. Your Mouth is Dry This seems pretty obvious, but the ramifications might not be so. Of course, any time you feel that sticky, nasty feeling in your mouth, you’d obviously reach for some sort of liquid. But sugary drinks are only a temporary solution to a larger problem. Drinking water lubricates the mucus membranes in your mouth and throat, which will continue to keep your mouth moist with saliva long after that first sip. 2. Your Skin is Dry Your skin is your body’s...

Smile – Have You Heard Of Oil Pulling?

By on Oct 27, 2015 in Healthy Living | 0 comments

Want that lovely smile and white teeth?  Oil pulling really works for healthy gums and teeth...  I know, as I do it daily.. I must say I resisted for quite some time from my husband taking to it immediately to improve oral health .. I just could not imagine holding oil in my mouth!  Then I was experiencing bad gum problems, and a build up of tartar.   A trip to the dentist horrors on two accounts!  Pain of a clean and the pain of the cost!  So I decided it was time to get with the program…  actually it is really easy to do and coconut oil is the key to success.  Believe me if I can do it you can too – so go on give it a go!   We have this great story from Trina to tell you all about it. Healing Cavities (A True “We’ve-Done-It!” Story!) Oh, people. I”m about to reveal something to you that has taken me months to work up the nerve to confess. Are you ready for this? {I’m not sure I am, but here goes…} I haven’t used toothpaste in over a year. Oh my gosh. I can’t believe I just said that out loud. On the internet. I guess now I have to explain myself, huh? Exploring alternate tooth care… Over a year ago now I started looking into natural tooth care, as part of my goal to make better, more natural choices in each area of my health and my household. I thought we had been doing good in this area, using a ‘natural’ brand toothpaste. Until I realized that even my natural toothpaste had stuff I knew I wanted to avoid–like sweeteners, fluoride, and glycerin. It didn’t take long as I looking into natural, holistic approaches to tooth care to realize that what we eat has so much more of an affect on our teeth than the substance we scrub them with, and maybe my search for a ‘safe’ toothpaste was a waste of energy. And then I read about people not using toothpaste at all, and, well, since toothpaste (and the alternatives people talked about using) has always given me the ibby-jibbies, I decided to...
